Leader of the APC in Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong has assured the new National Chairman of the APC Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe that the APC family in Plateau State and Nigeria at large will work together to ensure that he succeeds.

Senator Lalong said this when he led the APC family including the State Party leadership and other stakeholders to the APC National Headquarters to congratulate the new National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe over his appointment to lead the party.

Senator Lalong said the emergence of Prof. Nentawe was a testimony to the fact that Plateau State is an APC State with wide acceptability, huge followership and confidence of the people.

He thanked President Bola Tinubu, the APC Governors and all stakeholders of the party nationwide for identifying the qualities in Prof. Nentawe and giving him the privilege to lead the party.

Lalong said the delegation was therefore at the national Secretariat to assure the new Chairman that they will be behind him throughout his tenure and also ensure that he leaves a legacy of victory and cohesion for the party.

In his remarks, Plateau State Chairman of the APC Hon. Rufus Bature described the ascension of Nentawe as a big win for the party in Plateau State and Nigeria at large as he brings on board fresh ideas that will propel the party to more victories.

He said back home, the party was waxing stronger and attracting more members including those leaving the the PDP to join the APC.

While praying for the success of the APC National Chairman, he reminded him that charity begins at home and that every thing that will enhance the fortunes of the party should be done.

National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe in his response said he was overwhelmed by the solidarity from his home base which gives a positive insight into how far he can go.

He used the opportunity to specially thank his mentor Senator Simon Bako Lalong who brought him to limelight.

He said ” I am very grateful to my father the former Governor of Plateau State and Senator of the Federal Republic. He brought me to national consciousness from my appointment as REC, Candidate of the APC, Plateau Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign, Minister of the Federal Republic and now National Chairman. Without him bringing me out to lamplight, the President would not have recognised me and given me this opportunity to lead the biggest party in Africa”.

Prof. Nentawe assured the delegation that he will make the State and nation proud by doing his best to expand the base of the party and capturing young minds since he is a bridge between the older and younger generation.
