Senator Lalong lights up more communities with solar power

In furtherance of his commitment to ensure that most communities in his Constituency have access to lighting, Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Lalong has secured more solar street lights which are being distributed and installed.

The latest beneficiaries of the about 200 solar lights are communities in Shendam, Langtang North and Bakin Ciyawa, Quan-Pan local Government Area.

This was contained in a statement by Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Special Adviser on Media to Senator Lalong.

Already, the street lights are being installed in various communities of the Local Governments bringing joy and excitement to the residents.

They describe Senator Lalong’s intervention as a dividend of quality representation which is making their communities more liveable and boasting local economy.

They are excited that the installation of the street lighting is also enhancing security and social life because people now have visibility to carry out business in the night.

It would be recalled that the first phase of the project commenced in Maikang and Langtang South followed by school classroom constructions in Wase, Shendam and other local Government Areas. He has promised more to come.

The Senator is also renovating the Shendam General Hospital as well as constructing earth dams in various locations.

He has promised that in the 2025 budget, the Southern Zone will get more as he will fully participate in the appropriation process unlike the previous one which he inherited.
