Senator Lalong mourns as cousin Immaculate is laid to rest in his hometown

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong has mourned his cousin late Immaculate Naantoe Swoshit who died at the age of 56 in Jos after a long battle with ill health.

Lalong was at the Church of Immaculate Conception, Zarmaganda, Jos for a funeral Mass in her honour.

This was contained in a statement by Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Special Adviser on Media to Senator Simon Bako Lalong, Plateau South Senatorial District.

He described her death as a big loss to the family, describing her as a loving, hardworking and dedicated person who did her best to succeed in business.

Senator Lalong who spoke on behalf of the family said though her demise is painful, the family is consoled by her testimony of kindness and commitment to God and the church.

He prayed God to grant her eternal rest and forgive her shortcomings, saying her departure from the world gives her rest from earthly pain and sickness.

In his Homily, Parish Priest of Church of Immaculate Conception Monsignor Prof. Cletus Gotan said death is inevitable and remains a reference point to all humanity who must prepare for it.

He said the deceased was always passionate about serving God and making life easier for people in need.

Gotan advised Nigerians to always think about death in all their ways as well as following the steps of God Almighty.

After the requiem mass, her corpse was conveyed to Nyak, Ajikamai, Shendam LGA for final interment.

Senator Lalong further visited the family house and commiserated with the other members of the family as well as the tradition ruler.
