Senator Lalong mourns passing of Mrs. Hannatu Gomwalk

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mama Hannatu Joseph Gomwalk, wife of the former Military Governor of the old Benue-Plateau State, Late Joseph Dechi Gomwalk.
Senator Lalong described the passing of Mama Gomwalk as a painful loss to Plateau State and Nigeria at large, noting that she was an epitome of dignity, resilience, humility, and service who stood firm with her late husband during a defining period in the history of the State and the nation.
He said her role in supporting her husband towards making impact through legacy projects spread across present day Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue States remain a point of reference that continues to inspire leadership across board.
He said Mrs. Gomwalk remained a source of inspiration to many through her quiet but impactful life of courage, compassion, and dedication to community development.
According to him, her contributions both as a pillar of support to her husband and as a mother figure to generations will remain evergreen in the collective memory of Plateau people of Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
Senator Lalong recalled her unwavering strength in the face of adversity and described her life as one that embodied grace, faith, and commitment to the values that have shaped the Benue-Plateau legacy.
While extending his heartfelt condolences to the Gomwalk family, Senator Lalong acknowledged her contributions to the Church, and the entire Plateau community, praying that God grants them comfort and the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He further charged the younger generation to draw lessons from Mama Hannatu Gomwalk’s exemplary life of courage, simplicity, and devotion to family and society.
