The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong is outraged over the reported gruesome killing of scores of people in Kukawa village in Kanam Local Government Area and Bunyum village in Wase Local Government Area Plateau State.
Senator Lalong said the attacks on peace loving and innocent people within some interior areas in Wase, his Senatorial District and other parts of the state have become one too many and must be tackled headlong.
He said the efforts of the communities to activate vigilante volunteers, who are now being targeted by bandits and other criminals is most unfortunate and should not be allowed to stand.
Lalong said the increasing threat by bandits is making life difficult for the people and stopping farming activities especially during the cropping season when they are supposed to be cultivating their farms.
While commiserating with the victims and their families over the murders, Lalong promised to work with his colleagues in reaching out to the relevant security agencies to do the needful and put an end to this calamity.
While steps are being taken to extend relief to the survivors, Senator Lalong says he will support any action to ensure that lives are no longer threatened while the criminals are brought to justice.
