A former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba has canvassed for a stop to the rotation of governorship amongst the three senatorial districts in the state.
The former federal law maker who represented the Cross River Central Senatorial District for three terms until 2015 spoke to journalists on the matter.
Ndoma-Egba called on elders in the state to come together and begin to look at the right successor to Governor Ben Ayade in 2023.
He said that the rotational governorship has not allowed for effective and efficient governance because a more competent person may not emerged from where the governorship is zoned.
“Senior citizens and elders of our state should come together with a view to sourcing for a capable replacement for Governor Ayade in 2023. We cannot afford this zoning system any further.”
He encouraged his new party, the APC which had been factionalised and embroiled in internal wranglings for many years over chairmanship, to unify and forge ahead for greater tasks for the people of the state.
