Shonekan: It’s lie from hell, baba is alive – Ogun gov’t
Chief Shonekan
The Ogun State Government has debunked rumour making the rounds especially in the social media that former Head, Interim National Government (ING) Chief Ernest Shonekan was dead.
Many social media outlets had reported Tuesday evening and quoting “press statements” from “family sources” that Chief Shonekan had died.
The Ogun State Government Tuesday through the Secretary to the Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, dispelled the rumour.
“It is a lie from hell. Baba is alive” he told journalists on telephone.
Shonekan was ING Head from August 26 to November 17, 1993 following the annulment of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election by military President Ibrahim Babangida, now declared to have been won by late Chief M.K.O Abiola.
Shonekan was overthrown by late General Sani Abacha.
