Soldiers in Taraba arrest suspect in murder of family members of Chief of Mutum Biyu

Soldiers in Taraba State have arrested one Nafi’u Yahaya, a dismissed Accountant of Mutum Biyu Chiefdom who confessed to have led a gang of kidnappers that abducted and killed family members of the Chief of Mutum Biyu in Gassol Local Government Justice Sani Sulaiman Duna last year.
In February last year, Yahaya led kidnappers, abducted the wives and children of the traditional ruler in his private residence in Jalingo, the State capital and killed them after some days.
The suspect, who spoke in Hausa language after his arrest confessed to the crime which was motivated by his dismissal from the service of the Chiefdom.
Three wives and 13 kidnapped children of the Chief were killed including two children who were studying in Turkey.
In a another development, one of the Chief Imams of Kwata Nanido in Gassol Local Government Area of the State is reportedly missing for past three weeks and all efforts by his people to locate him proved abortive.
