The meeting from where Nwoye was expelled
The leadership of Soludo Support Group (SSG), has expelled its former National Coordinator and Convener, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye.
Nwoye, who is also the Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol to Governor Soludo was suspended Thursday after the meeting of the group held in Awka, the State capital.
The expulsion followed series of allegations leveled against him by the members of SSG ranging from highhandedness, usurpation, misrepresentation and refusal to apologise to the body over a resent misleading media attack against the leadership of the Support Group..
But it was gathered that Nwoye’s expulsion followed his attack on the leadership of SSG, calling them “dissident”.
He also accused them of working to scuttle Soludo’s second term because he did not give some of them appointments.
But moving the motion for Nwoye’s expulsion alongside seven other persons, the Njikoka/Dunukofia/Aniocha Zonal Coordinator of Soludo Support Group, Prof. Ike Morah, noted that Chinedu Nwoye’s dispositions has continued to be a huge embarrassment to the group and frowned at his refusal to apologise the group as directed by the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the group.
Seconding the motion, Idemili Zonal Coordinator of SSG, Dr. Okolo Ikechukwu, pointed out that Nwoye tried to usurp the powers of the National Coordinator and the BOT by calling meetings and held clandestine gatherings through which he attempted to “misinform and mislead the public”, maintaining that “his expulsion together with his co-travelers is the only way to rejig the body and restore sanity”.
Other members of Soludo Support Group (SSG) that spoke, insisted that the former National Coordinator, popularly known as Glamour who has refused to account for fund paid through him in the course of the group’s efforts towards the 2021 governorship election must be expelled and made to refund all the money.
A member of SSG, Hon. Chukwuma Ogbonnia recalled that the group presented a cheque of 10,000,000 (ten million naira) to Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, during its fund raising on 18th May, 2021, in support of the purchase of expression of interest and nomination form, whereas a total of N17, 000,000 (seventeen million naira) was realized and wondered why the former National Coordinator, Nwoye would decide to shortchange the group.
Another SSG member, Hon. Goodluck Agbasiele, said that gossiping and busyboding have become Nwoye’s stock in trade. “This is the first State Chief of protocol whose job description includes gossiping, slandering and blackmailing of the political class in the state, that office is a dignified office but I can’t say of that today” stressing that the former National Coordinator has not dignified the office he occupies and thus, not a good ambassador of Soludo Support Group (SSG).
Following the strong position of members and there was no counter motion, the National leadership of SSG through its National Coordinator, Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu, pronounced Chinedu Nwoye expelled from Soludo Support Group (SSG) together with his accomplices.
Those expelled alongside Chinedu Nwoye Glamour include; Emmanuel Oramalu, Ochije Mmodilim, Van Gorge Ezeogidi, Sam Emeka, Chimdindu Orakwue and John Ikechukwu while 17 others are still under investigation..
Speaking after the meeting, the National Youth leader of Soludo Support Group (SSG), Dr. Charles Ebulue, bemoaned the attempt by Nwoye to resort to the use of police in his desperate attempt to stop the meeting from holding, wondering why he would be inviting the police in family dispute.
The group further abolished the position of “Convener” and replaced it with “Founder,” with Dr. Chidi Okoye named as founder.
When contacted on his cellphone for his comment, it was engaged.
