The Ubangayya Movement of Hon. Danladi Baido, the Taraba State governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has continue to make inroads in the southern parts of the state.
A Team from the Movement was in Tunari and Tsokundi in Wukari Local Government Area on Sunday where they received rousing welcome and acceptability of Hon. Baido’s candidature in the March 11, 2023 governorship election.
The first port of call was Tunari were the people of the town wholly and openly accepted Hon. Baido as their preferred governorship candidate. The team first paid a royal visit to the traditional ruler, Hakimin Tunari, Malam Sule Sunsuwa and an elder, Malam Ibrahim Nyama where both of them blessed the team to succeed in the election.
The Team then held a Town Hall meeting where the policies, programmes and manifesto of Hon. Baido were unveiled to them. They later asked probing questions which the leader of the team answered satisfactory.
Most of those who contributed at the Town Hall spoke of the need to construct access roads, provide health facilities and teachers for the community neglected by past administrations.
They also expressed delight with Hon. Baido’s Ubangayya team for being the first political platform to visit the town through the dusty bumpy and unsafe road as well as crossing the River Donga and riding on motorcycles to reach their community.
Impressed by the visit and Town Hall meeting, the residents provided heavy refreshments for the Ubangayya team.
At Tsokundi, the team held another Town Hall with youths’ groups in the town informing them that Hon. Baido of the SDP is the best candidate for Taraba State.
The Special Assistant on Media to Hon. Danladi Baido, Mr. Anthony Maliki was part of the team which included many stakeholders from southern part of Taraba State.
