From Ahmed A. Usman,

The State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Jema’a Local Government Area has commended the Executive Chairman, Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara, for his outstanding efforts in transforming the education sector within just one year of his administration.

The commendation was made by the Education Secretary of the Local Government, Mr. Tyen Dogara Audu, during a meeting with Heads of Departments at his office in Kafanchan.

The gathering provided an avenue for SUBEB management and staff to express their appreciation for the Chairman’s visionary leadership and to reaffirm their loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani. Mr. Audu congratulated Honourable Dogara on marking one year in office, describing his achievements as “a model of purposeful leadership and commitment to educational advancement.” He stated:

“As the Chairman celebrates this milestone, we, the entire staff of SUBEB Jema’a, extend our heartfelt gratitude and congratulations for his remarkable contributions to the growth of the education sector.”

Highlighting key milestones under Dogara’s tenure, Mr. Audu noted that one of the Chairman’s earliest actions was the approval of long-overdue staff promotions—an initiative that reinvigorated teachers’ morale and strengthened the delivery of quality education across public primary schools in the area.He further listed several infrastructural strides, including the renovation of four classrooms and one office at Model Primary School, Zankan, as well as the construction of a new two-classroom block at Universal Basic Primary School, Ngaskiya.

These projects, he said, have provided a more conducive learning environment for pupils. To ensure effective supervision and mobility, the Chairman also refurbished the official Hilux vehicle for the Education Secretary’s office, which had been grounded for years, alongside five departmental motorcycles. According to Mr. Audu, Honourable Dogara’s administration has consistently paid teachers’ salaries on time and implemented the New National Minimum Wage for education staff — a gesture that has provided financial relief amid the prevailing economic hardship. In promoting co-curricular activities, Dogara sponsored the Jema’a Local Government primary school sports team to a national competition in Jigawa State, where they emerged second, and also revived the long-abandoned Children’s Day celebrations in 2025.

Another major achievement is the establishment of a new standard primary school in Fido, commissioned under the Chairman’s supervision, designed to meet modern learning standards.

Mr. Audu concluded by urging all teachers to sustain their dedication and support for the Chairman’s developmental vision, noting that “Honourable Dogara’s leadership has brought a level of progress and welfare improvements not seen since the inception of the local government.” With these achievements, Honourable Peter Tanko Dogara’s administration has been widely hailed as a catalyst for educational transformation in Jema’a Local Government, setting a new benchmark for public service delivery in Kaduna State.
