Niger Tornadoes are aiming for nothing outside an outright win against league’s most dogged side, the Benin Arsenal, Bendel Insurance.
The Ikon Allah Boys are winless in three games after a somewhat decent start to the season, but the recent bad run of form which is majorly attributed to fatigue and blending, is set to be addressed by the Hamza Abara led Technical Crew starting from this weekend’s encounter against Monday Odigie’s side.
Insurance have conceded just once in six games this season, at Gombe United – this underlines their doggedness and stinginess in terms of goal conceding.
In a pre-match statement by Niger Tornadoes FC media on Saturday, the Benin Arsenal, are however, yet to score any goal on the road so far this season, their four goals have all come on the home turf.
Tornadoes badly needs a win to end a run of bad spell and have to dig deep to grind out the much needed three points in this weekend’s match day 8 encounter to move out of the red zone.
The last time out at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium against Enyimba FC the Ikon Allah Boys were forced to goalless, while Bendel Insurance on the other hand are embarking on a road double header after pulling a goalless draw at Doma United in midweek.
The last meeting between this two teams ended scoreless over two legs during the 2018/2019 NPFL season.
Team News:
Joshua Enaholo and Bashir Usman are battling for match fitness ahead of this crucial encounter as both players are trying the shake off their minor injuries.
Attackers, Akintunde Azeez and Yahuza Bala looked sharp and were a delight during the team’s training session and maybe unleashed on the Insurance.
