Synod urges President Buhari not to force Nigerians to take COVID-19 vaccine

Synod of the All Nations Evangelism Ministries (ANEM) has urged President Mohammdu Buhari to desist from forcing Nigerians to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a press conference during this year’s synod at the Fresh Oil International convention at IBB Square Makurdi, Benue State, the General Overseer of the ministries and National President, Christians Association of Clergies in Nigeria CAC-Nig. Archbishop Dr. Yimam Orkwar, told the President to be mindful of the fact that the COVID-19 Vaccine is an experimental vaccine, it should be taken voluntary.
Synod called on all Christians to continue to pray for President Buhari for God to give him a kind heart to lead with wisdom and fear of God.
Synod recalled that at the inception of the Present administration declared zero tolerance to corruption and vigorously fight the war against corruption devoid of political affiliation and other factors but the steady increase in corruption demands intensified efforts to eradicate it.
On the state of the nation’s economy, the ANEM congregation observed with great concern the debt profile of the nation , declaining value of the Naira and rate of borrowing by the Federal Government, they called on the Economic Team to rise up and rescue the economy from further decline.
On insecurity, the Synod called on President Buhari to ensure that Nigeria attains the status of a secured nation. They observed that the present level of insecurity affects every segment of lives as Nigerians as such it must be addressed.
Christians and other Nigerians have been encouraged to continue to pray without ceasing for Nigerian Armed Forces.
Synod commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Law Enforcement and Security Agencies for their sense of patriotism and loyalty, their sacrifice in the war against terrorism in several states of the nation and encourages them to remain steadfast; intensify effort despite resistance from bandits and other operational challenges they encounter daily.
Synod called on the President, Governor’s and other political leaders to have respect and reverence God, uphold equity, fairness and justice in their service to the nation.
Among the dignitaries that attended the synod were Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and his deputy Engr. Benson Anounu, Senator Gabriel Suswan represented by Chairman of Ukum Local Government Area, Mr. Stevie Ayua.
