Takad Chiefdom youth association in Kaduna gets new executives

The National body of Takad Youth Development Association (TYDA) in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna state have elected executives that will steer the affairs of the association for the next three years.

The election, which took place at Youth Center in Fadan Attakar, was attended by 116 delegates from 19 chapters.

Declaring the result, the Electoral Committee Chairman, Mr. Gabriel Anyip, said Ashio Henry Ashio won the poll with 64 votes against his opponent, Arc. Kuhiyep Yohanna who scored 49 votes, while other 20 executives were elected unopposed.

Speaking to newsmen after the election, the newly elected chairman, Ashio Henry, urged the co-contestants, new executives to join hands in the development of Takad youths and Takad land.

He promised to build on his experience as peace ambassador to create a room for the locals and the Fulani herdsmen of the area in finding a lasting solution to tackle the security challenges bedeviling the area.

In his remark, the traditional ruler of Takad Chiefdom, Tobias Nkom Wada, who spoke through the District Head of Fadan Attakar, Mr. Silas Kanwai, commended the delegates for their peaceful conduct, before, during and after the election.

He congratulated the new executives and tasked them to see their emergence as a call to serve.
