The Coalition of APC youth groups in Taraba North Senatorial District has urged Governor Agbu Kefas to as a matter of urgency dissolve his cabinet and appoint new members that will be inclusive and accommodating both old and new APC members.
In a statement signed by Ibrahim Bambur leader of Coalition alleged that certain forces, including some cabinet members are hindering the efforts of the Governor to restructure his team due to fear of losing their positions.
The group also demanded that key positions such as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Head of Service (HOS), and Chief of Staff (COS) be appointed from the old APC members.
It criticized the current cabinet for lack of experience, leading to financial recklessness, nepotism, and tribalism.
The coalition warned that irregularities will persist if Governor Kefas refuses to restructure his cabinet which will lead to lossing the credibility of his Government.
They further advised him to drop long-serving politicians and stop patronizing selfish stakeholders who deceive and exploit resources without delivering results.
The group also expressed concern over project allocation, citing a disproportionate 95% allocation to Southern Taraba, 5% to Central Zone, and 0% to Taraba North which could impact negatively to the APC in the 2027 general elections.
The coalition said that the inability of Governor Kefas to dissolve his cabinet which is overdue is a clear indication of his weak leadership calling on him to assert his authority and make decisions that will benefit the entire State.
The group noted that inclusivity and diversity in Governance is crucial for basic development observing that a cabinet that represents the diverse interests of Taraba State will drive fast development and progress.
The coalition however commended the efforts of the Governor to attract investment and promote economic growth but emphasizes that more needs to be done to address poverty and inequality.
They call on the governor to prioritize infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and job creation to improve the lives of Tarabans.
