Taraba Deputy Governor urges prayers for peace, tranquility in Nigeria at Eid-el-Kabir

Muslims in Taraba State have been enjoined to use the period of Eid-el-Kabir and pray for sustainable peace and tranquillity in Nigeria.
The State Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu made the call shortly after observing two units Eid Prayer at the Taraba State University Eid Ground.
Manu while lamenting over the high level of insecurity in the country, said prayer is the only alternative towards surmounting the myriad of security challenges the nation is faced with.
He called on Tarabans to work collaboratively with security personnel, stressing that securing lives and property should not be left for security personnel alone.
The Deputy Governor congratulated the Muslims for celebrating yet another Eid-el-kabir in a peaceful manner and urged them to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, tolerance, piety and sharing as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad.
Earlier in his sermon,the chief Imam,Salisu Ishaq admonished the congregation to celebrate the fest in accordance with the Islamic teachings.
The Imam stressed the need for dedication in serving the Almighty Allah through supplications, reciting the glorious Qur’an, sharing with the needy and visitation among other acts of worship.
Prayers were said for peaceful forthcoming general elections and tranquility of the State and the country at large.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by a host of senior government officials.
