Taraba government appoints two 3rd Class chiefs in Takum

Taraba State Government has appointed two 3rd Class Chiefs in Takum Local Government Area following their nomination by Takum traditional kingmakers.

A statement by the State Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo says Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas approved the appointments of
HRH Uhwe Bala Ephraim as 3rd-Class Chief of Tsohon Jukun Takum and
HRH Barrister Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi III as 3rd-Class Chief of Gar Chamba Takum.

The statement added that the appointments were aimed at preserving the rich cultural heritage of Takum and promote community development of the Area.

It urges the appointed chiefs HRH Uhwe Bala Ephraim and HRH Barrister Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi III to bring their wealth of experience and commitment to bare in their respective communities.

The statement congratulated the newly appointed royal fathers and encouraged all stakeholders and residents of the communities to support their leadership and work towards fostering unity, preserving cultural values, and promoting socio-economic growth in Takum and Taraba State.

It could be recalled that Governor Dr. Kefas recently initiated and signed a bill for a rotational First Class Chief of Takum which have been lingering for decades and appointment of three Third Class Chiefs for the three major tribes in the area the Kuteb, Jukun and Chamba.
