Taraba Governor, Ishaku warns traditional rulers against sale of land to unknown persons

The Governor of Taraba State, Architect Darius Ishaku has warned traditional rulers against indiscriminate sale of land to unknown persons.
The Governor who gave the warning when Chairmen of the sixteen local Governments in the State paid him a thank you and condolence visit at the Government House, Jalingo, said unknown persons must be screened before allowing them to settle in any community in view of the fragile security situation in the country.
Governor Ishaku charged local government chairmen and traditional rulers to be up to their responsibilies as the custodians of the people at the grassroots and applauded men of the Nigeria Police in the state for nabbing four suspected kidnappers in connection to the gruesome murder of the Chairman Ardo Kola Local Government, Salihu Dovo and urged them to fish out all the killers in the shortest possible time.
He described as sad the demise of the Chairman and sympathized with the family including those who naturally died in the state recently.
Earlier, Chairman, Ibi Local Government Area, Bala Bako who is the ALGON chairman in the state decried the security condition of the country promising to synergize with security operatives to track criminal elements in the State.
Bako thanked the Governor for conducting a successful local government election in the State and prayed God to guide him as he continue to pilot the affairs of the state.
The ALGON Chairman appreciated Governor Ishaku for standing by them during the death of one of their own Chairman Ardo Kola Local government, Salihu Dovo who has since been buried in his home town Dovo.
A minute silence was observed for the late Chairman.
