Taraba Governor Kefas appoints Hon. Baido Emergency Implementation chairman on Infrastructural Development, Human Services

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas approved the appointment of former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Danladi Baido Tijos as the Chairman of the Emergency Implementation Committee (EIC) on Infrastructural Development and Human Services.
This was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the Taraba State Government (SSG), Chief Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps.
Hon. Tijos was a two-term Member House of Representatives who represented Karim-Lamido/Lau/Ardo-Kola Federal Constituency and was Taraba State governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 election.
A tested and respected politician with lots of ideas, Hon. Tijos also served as Taraba State as Commissioner of Finance and Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
According to the statement dated 27, November, 2025, the SSG quoted Governor Kefas as saying that the Committee became necessary as the state is “faced with significant challenges in infrastructural development and provision of human services, which threaten the health, safety and welfare of Tarabans that require immediate attention and action to ensure the wellbeing of the people and the state’s infrastructure.”
The SSG stated that the Committee shall oversee and coordinate the implementation of all emergency measures during the emergency which shall remain in force for an initial period of 24 months.
Members of the Committee are: Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, commissioners of health, Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Basic Education, Water Resources, Agriculture and Food Security and Energy and Economic Development.
Others are commissioners of Environment and Climate Change, Work and Infrastructure, Chairman, State Planning Commission, State Auditor-General while Director-General, Bureau for Public Procurement will serve as Member/Secretary.
