Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has expressed worry over the Federal Government abandoned bridge project across the River Benue at Ibi in Taraba State.
Disturbed by the stoppage of the construction of the bridge, Governor Kefas in company of elder statesman and indigene of the state retired General T.Y. Danjuma last Saturday visited the project site to get first-hand information about the project and what led to its stoppage.
He stressed the need for collaboration between the federal and the state governments to pursue the project to a logical conclusion.
The Governor said the implication of starting a project of such magnitude and abandoning it is enormous lamenting that it will cause flood and make it very difficult to plan the security architecture of the area.
Some critical stakeholders in the state including Ambassador Idris Waziri, senators representing Taraba South and Central spoke on the significance of the project and explained some of the challenges bedeviling the project.
