Taraba Governor Kefas flags off distribution of hospital equipment, commissions new transformers

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has officially flagged off the distribution of hospital equipment valued at over ₦1 billion in Jalingo, Taraba State.
The event was held at the Essential Drugs Warehouse, drawing stakeholders from across the healthcare sector.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Kefas urged the benefiting hospitals across all sixteen local government areas to make judicious use of the equipment to enhance healthcare delivery. He further assured that he would personally visit the hospitals to inspect how the equipment is being utilized.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bordiya Buma, described healthcare as a priority area for the Kefas administration. He noted that the majority of the procured equipment are state-of-the-art and are expected to significantly improve productivity in the state’s health sector.
Dr. Buma also called on the people of Taraba State to support the administration of Governor Kefas in its bid to advance healthcare and other critical sectors.
Also speaking at the event, the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Bawa, commended the governor’s commitment to strengthening the health sector. He expressed confidence that the initiative would contribute greatly to the wellbeing of Tarabans.
Similarly, Governor Kefas has also commissioned new transformers to boost electricity distribution across the state.
During the ceremony, he revealed plans to commission a hydroelectric power plant in the near future, marking a significant step towards energy self-sufficiency.
The Governor emphasized the importance of using electrical equipment responsibly.
Commissioner for Energy, Engineer Naomi Agbu, noted that the transformers will alleviate electricity challenges in some areas, improving the overall quality of life for residents.
