The Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas will join the APC together with members of the State Executive Council Wednesday, November 19th, 2025.
Taraba State Commisioner of Information and Re-orientation Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo who announced this said the decision to transition to the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside the state Governor Dr. Kefas was reached after the meeting of the State Executive Council meeting presided by the Governor on Monday.
Barr. Jalingo explained that the decision followed extensive deliberations on the political and developmental direction of the State.
She noted that the Council reached a unanimous agreement to join the APC which they believe is in the best interest of Taraba State.
“Aligning with the new political direction of the Governor is aimed at advancing the the overall development of the State” Barr. Jalingo said.
The Commissioner restated the commitment of the Executive Council members to continue supporting the policies and programmes of the Governor saying that their collective focus remains on ensuring stability, progress, and improved Governance in Taraba State.
The transition ceremony is scheduled to hold at the main bowl of the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo which is expected to attract prominent personalities and national leaders of the APC who will be on ground to witness the Governor’s official defection.
The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly John Kizito Bonzena and 15 other PDP members defected to APC to prepare grounds for a grand defection of the State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas to make Taraba an APC control State for the first term in history since the advent of democracy in1999.
