Taraba Governor Kefas warns civil servants against falsifying age to perpetually stay in service

Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has strongly warned Civil Servants against falsifying their retirement age as anyone found in the act will face the full wrath of the law.
The Governor gave warning in Jalingo while receiving the Interim Reports of the Staff Audit and Verification Committee constituted in August 2023 to verify the actual staff strength on the payroll of the State, investigate employment conducted from June 2023 and assess the legitimacy of individuals employed after June 2023 as well as make appropriate recommendations.
The Governor emphasized the significance of integrity, urging civil servants to refrain from dishonest practices saying that he would thoroughly examine the reports and communicate with the Committee through the State Ministry of Finance.
He encouraged the Committee to remain resolute and ensure fairness in their findings.
Presenting the Interim Report, Chairman of the committee, Haruna Abdulqadir Permanent Secretary office of the Secretary to Government of Taraba State said during the excircise, the Committee used Comprehensive Staff Lists and Payroll Data from June 2023 to 2024, along with Executive Approvals of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs)in the period under review.
Abdulqadir noted that they have so far verified 40 out of the 96 MDAs in the State and conducted Biometric capture of the affected civil Servants screened so far.
He said the exercise is ongoing, and some Civil Servants found with discrepancies in their records are undergoing further verification.
