Taraba Igbo Community Association eight-year feud over – President-General as monarch sued for permanent peace

At last, the Igbo Community Association (ICA) in Taraba State has resolved to speak with one voice as the eight year leadership feud has been put to rest.

President-General of the Association, Decean Micheal Adili disclosed this to our correspondent shortly after the end of delegates quarterly meeting held in Jalingo.

According to him, the eight year feud which came to limelight in 2017 was centered on mismanagement, lack of transparency, accountability and injustice by the previous administration among others.

Decean Adili revealed that the “new ICA” Taraba have resolved to set a new record by introducing positive ideas, accepted and cherished by the entire majority aimed at moving the association forward.

He said, in the meantime, the association has recorded tremendous successes ranging from increase in attendance lists, love, unity and peace among one another since he assumed office barely months ago.

The President General said his desire was to see that the new Taraba ICA stands the test of time where lingering issues remain in history and pave way for total transformation of a new era that Ndigbo will be proud of in Taraba State now and after his tenure.

Decean Adili also disclosed that to ensure that the new ICA did not leave any stone unturned and to boost legitimacy and accountability, that ICA now has duly registered with corporate affairs commission (CAC) and recognized by government at all levels.

While urging ICA members to live in peace with the host community (Taraba State) also solicited support of Ndigbo in Taraba to continue praying for administration of government Agbu Kefas in the State to succeed.

Also speaking during an interview, the Eze Udo 1 Taraba HRH Friday A.C. Okeli, sued for one united Igbo Community Association (ICA) in Taraba State.

He urged them to remain brother’s keeper and ensure peaceful co-existence, saying a house divided itself will never stand.

According to Eze Udo 1, he was in the meeting to proffer fatherly advice bearing a mind that the new ICA in Taraba particularly the present leadership are men of proving integrity and honesty.

The royal monarch, who is also the number “Two” Royal father in Taraba state after Eze Igbo 1 of Taraba/HRH Igwe Wilfred Ibe expressed delight over the new ICA in Taraba State, urging them to remain focused.

Apart from been number “Two” Igbo Royal father in the State, the monarch is also the chairman Ndi-Eze north-east, vice chairman 19 northern president general of Ndi-Igbo, Executive member inter-tribal traditional leaders association of Nigeria comprises Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo and the life patron of ICA Mararaba/Donga Local Government Area respectively among several other titles.
