Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State

The Taraba State Government has employed 1545 new workers from the sixteen local governments of the state into the State Civil Service.
Presenting their letters of employment, Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson lshaku said the apointments were delayed because he insisted on due process, impartiality and justice which are the watchwords of his government as he intends to leave a legacy since the inception of his administration in 2015. Governor Ishaku congratulated the appointees and urged them to consider themselves lucky for securing appointment at this time advising them to plan for their retirement from now.
He equally advised them to try to know the job well as the civil Service is the engine room of every Government.
The Governor Commended the Chairman of the Taraba State CivilI Service Commission, Elder John Mamman and the staff for a job well done in the recruitment exercise.
Ishaku recalled with nostalgia his inaugural speech in 2015 when he promised to restructure the civil service to reposition for functionality and proactively engaged the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) which he has achieved.
He said he has successfully conducted biometric screening to ascertain the actual staff strength and flushed out ghost workers in the State.
Governor Ishaku maintained that he also recruited doctors, nurses and other medical staff to boost the Health sector. The Governor, however, frown at the way some of the 3,000 Rescue Teachers employed by his administration were fraudulently removed and replaced without his knowledge and directed the State Head of Service, Suzy Jamimah Nathan to investigate and report to him immediatly. He berated the Protocol Department of the Government House for for failing to perform it’s duties effectively particularly for not inviting stakeholders in the State like the State Chief Judge Justice Filibus Andetur and the former Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Mr.Fidelis Kaigana and other important dignitories. Earlier, Chairman Taraba State Civil Service Commission, Elder Mamman said the appointees were found suitable to fill the vacant positions in the State Civil Service and pledged to continue to guide the civil Servants.
He congratulated the appointees and urged them to reciprocate by being dedicated and loyal to the Government. In his remarks, Secretary to Taraba State Government, Anthony Jelason thanked the Governor for the massive employment of qualified indigenes into the State Civil Service which is the first of it’s kind since the creation of the State in 1991.
Jellason said the Governor will for long be remembered for this great fit and advised the appointees to do well in their places of work to be good ambassadors of Taraba State.
Presenting a vote of thanks on behalf of the appointees, Collins Colman Shatara thanked the State Government for appointng them into the State civil Service and pledged to justify the con confidence reposed in them.
