The people of Taraba State have been urged to resist any attempt by the present administration in the state to sell its common assets.
The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Hon. Danladi Baido made the remarks at the 7th anniversary celebrations of the Global Baptish Mission (GBM) at Kusuku in Sardauna Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.
He said there are indication that the state-owed Mambilla Beverages Nigeria Limited, situated at Kakara-Gembu is about to be sold by the state government.

According to him, it that is allowed, many people would lose their jobs and criminality might increase.
He cited the example of Benue Cement Company that was sold in the name of privatization which led to the retrenchment of over 80 per cent of its local workforce.
Hon. Baido who was guest at the anniversary expressed dismay over the lack of health facility in Kusuku describing the state government as insensitive to the health needs of the people.

He praised GBM for establishing a health centre at Kusuku and pledged to improve on the facility to better serve the people when elected the next Governor of the state.
The SDP candidate also appealed to the GBM to establish another branch at Karim Lamido.
