Taraba teachers urge Governor Kefas to consider them for palliatives

As teachers mark the 2023 World Teachers Day, the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) Taraba State chapter has urged Governor Agbu Kefas to extend the ongoing palliatives to its members.

State chairman of the union, Comrade Sule Abasu made the plea during the 2023 World Teachers Day in Jalingo on Thursday.

He said at the moment most teachers are engaged in rural areas and need government consideration to enable them access palliative measures such as fertilizers, herbicides, tractors and other agricultural inputs to boost food production.

He appealed to the governor on the need for recruitment of more teachers especially the key areas such as science, mathematics, literature in English, as well as engages the services of local securities and cleaners across board.

Comrade Abasu who re-iterates the union’s unflinching commitment to the people-oriented policies in the state assured the governor that teachers are ready to carry out any assignment that will facilitate the endearing education policy of the state.
