Taravest: Dangote advocates domestic investment than ‘crazy’ for foreign-driven businesses

The President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has advised Nigerian Governors to look inward and encourage domestic Investment instead of always pushing for foreign Investment that may hardly materialize.

Speaking at the 2025 Taraba International Investment Summit (Taravest) in Jalingo on Wednesday, the business mogul explained that no foreign investors will come to invest in any part of the country without encouraging domestic investors to take the lead.

He stressed that once the domestic sector is properly established and resources well harnessed, the foreign investors will willingly be attracted and come over to invest.

Dangote reassured the Taraba Government of his readiness to Investment in the state. He called on domestic investors to take the lead by taking advantage of the abundant agricultural and solid minerals potentials of the state.

In his remarks the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III commended Governor Agbu Kefas for hosting the Investment Summit.

While calling for peaceful coexistence among citizens, the Sultan also commended the Governor for improvement in the security of the state in the last two years.

Governor of Niger State, Muhammadu Bago who represented the Northern Governors Forum urged the Taraba State Government to emphasized on the development of agriculture, solid minerals and tourism sectors.

Governor Kefas who said he was super excited, assured all Investors of safety and a secured environment for their investments.

Those who graced the occasion include Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi, Mr. Tony Elumelu, among several other prominent Nigerians.
