The Executive Vice Chairman, Taraba State Bio-Entrepreneurship Innovation and Solution Agency, (TASBISA), Elder Josiah Bitrus Habu has called on youths to be productive and avoid being used by mischief makers.
The Executive Vice Chairman made the call at his temporary office in Jalingo when the Northern Christians and Muslims Youth Forum paid him a courtesy visit.
Elder Habu commended His Excellency, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas for finding him worthy of the appointment, and his passion for the youths by engaging them in useful ventures.
He stated that, “when you train and empower Youths, you create a very vibrant society”, adding, “this Agency was not created to make money, neither is it an elephant project meant to syphon money from elsewhere but targeted towards the development of Youths”.
The Elder pointed out that “Bio entrepreneurship is an activity, and Innovation means, building on existing activities within our locality”, hence the Agency’s initiative at creating offices in the three Senatorial areas of the State, and thereafter creating hubs in each of the Local Government Areas where products of comparative advantage can be harnessed for the benefit of the State, Nation and World at large.
The Executive Vice-chairman further appreciated the Northern Youths for the award presented to him, stressing that, it is like spikes set under him to spur him to greater ventures, as he promised to work harder towards the development of the State and beyond.
While assuring them of the Agency’s partnership, he commended the youths’ vision and resilience, and encouraged them to continue to channel their energy into worthy ventures as there is no limit to what motivated Youths can achieve.
Speaking earlier, the Leader of Delegation and Convener, Northern Christians and Muslims Youth Forum, Comrade Joseph Christopher stated that the main aim of the Forum is to preach peace to all the people in Northern Nigeria.
He stressed that this peace initiative is achieved through creating symposiums, visits to refugee camps and orphanages to identify with them and assist in payment of school fees as well as contribute towards their well-being, and to also raise support for members who are affected by activities of insurgency and mobilise individuals of like minds to support their cause.
The Comrade who described Elder Habu as a youth-friendly person stressed that his track records are well known to the youths, since a golden fish has no hiding place. He pointed out that whatever one does, he should bear in mind that people are watching, hence his nomination for the award, in order to encourage him and to also partner with the Agency as well as identify with him and draw from his wealth of experience.
Comrade Christopher further commended the Taraba State Governor, Dr. Kefas for his insight in appointing Elder Habu to pilot the affairs of TASBISA, his confidence in the Youths clearly seen through Youth engagement in the State, his free education policy and slashing of school fees which has taken children off the streets and made life easy for those in Tertiary institutions.
A staff of the Agency and Confidential Secretary, Mr. Hussaini Audu in his vote of thanks, appreciated the youth delegation for the award to his boss and assured them of the Agency’s partnership.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of the Commendation Certificate to the TASBISA Executive Vice Chairman in recognition of his selfless service, hard work, exemplary leadership and enormous contributions towards community and peaceful coexistence between the Christians and Muslims in the Northern part of Nigeria.
