In the wake of the recent terror alerts by some western countries, Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has tasked the country’s security agents on giving their all to secure the Nigeria against criminals.
Engineer Sule made the call during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) cooperative house, at the corps’ headquarters, in Abuja, on Monday.
Commenting on the recent terror alerts issued by the US, UK and Australia, warning their citizens to leave Nigeria because of possible terror attacks on Abuja, the Governor urged security agents to not be allow themselves to be cowered by the antics of criminals but to give their all to defend the country against any form of aggression.
According to Engineer Sule, even though government is not taking any security issue lightly, but nobody will scare Nigerians from traveling to Abuja, the nation’s capital.
“Nigeria belongs to us, Nigeria is our only country, we must get up as members of the NSCDC and all the other security agencies in the country and defend our nation and not allow any criminals to overtake us.
“Nobody can scare us from coming to Abuja. When you go out there to do your work as members of the NSCDC, understand that you are not only doing it for yourselves, but also as people of Nigeria, that you are doing it for your children and grandchildren,” he stated.
The Governor commended the NSCDC and other security agents for what the agencies are doing across the country to safeguard the lives of Nigerians, particularly in Nasarawa and Borno states.

He pointed out that Nasarawa State is relatively peaceful mostly because of the continued support from President Muhammadu Buhari, the security agencies, as well as other supportive organs such as the local vigilante.
“We cannot allow anybody to scare us around the world that Nigeria is not safe. Nigeria is safe, Nigeria will continue to be safe and you will continue to support our country” he emphasized.
Engineer Sule commended the Commandant- General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for initiating the cooperative housing scheme, particularly as it will encourage officers and men of the corps to save for the future.
As a show of support for the project, he donated N10m, while also promising to donate a piece of land for the replication of the project in Nasarawa State.
Earlier, in his speech, Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, said the cooperative house of the corps, which was initiated in December 2021 by the present executives of the national headquarters cooperative society, was in furtherance of staff welfare programmes, aimed at enhancing the financial status of cooperative society towards uplifting the standards of the members.
He disclosed that, the cooperative house is designed to accommodate facilities as conference centres, event centres, shopping mall, guest house, gym and other recreational facilities that will be available for use not only for Its members but it will also the general public.
“It’s expected that at completion, it will increase the fortunes of the cooperative society and impact positively on the core welfare drive for Its members, being an additional source of gathering funds for Its activities,” the Commandant-General added.
