Tiv youths award Gombe secretary to government, Professor Njodi title as ‘Warrior of Peace’

In recognition of his sterling efforts at peace building across boarders, Secretary to Gombe State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has been honored with the award of ‘Warrior of Peace’ by the Tiv Youths Peace Initiative (TYPI).
While presenting the award to the SSG in his office on Monday, President of the Association, Mr. Tenaa Anakaa who led other members of the executives said that the award was a result of a five year research on Professor Abubakar Njodi which found him worthy of being the first ever ‘Kuruttya U Bem’ (Warrior of Peace) award by the association.
He also said that, the research revealed that Professor Abubakar Njodi had exhibited a rare passion for accommodating people from parts of the country as well as his philanthropic gestures.
According to him, whenever given the opportunity, Professor Njodi embraces and assigns responsibilities to people not minding where they come from saying, “This has made him non tribal, non ethnic but a true Nigerian”.
He further commended the Gombe State Government under Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya for its efforts in ensuring peaceful coexistence in the State stressing that, “this has made the association to pass a vote of confidence on Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya”.
Mr. Tenaa Anakaa explained that the association is a sociocultural group that is fully on ground in Benue, Nassarawa, Taraba and Plateau States with membership all over the world.
He also said that the association has been involved in mobilizing youths against all forms of social vices especially drug abuse which is the major cause of youth restiveness.
While receiving the award, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, appreciated the award and recognition done to him and the State saying, “whatever we must have achieved was made possible through the people of Gombe State”, as such, he dedicated the award to the people.
While promising to do more to take Gombe State higher, Professor Njodi said, ” since you have been watching us and what we do, we will not be surprised if other sociocultural groups such as, Igbos, Yorubas among many others are watching us for good too”.
