Toro Reps Member procures, distributes N150m hospital equipment, other items

Hospital equipment and other things worth over N150m have been procured and distributed to Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) and other beneficiaries in Toro Federal Constituency in a determined efforts to promote Healthcare services delivery to the people as well as empower them.
The Procurement was made by the member representing Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Reps, Umar Muda Lawal as part of his constituency projects.

While Presenting the equipment to Toro Local Government Council officials in a ceremony held in Toro on Friday, the Federal Legislator said that the procurement of the equipment was part of his mandate and plan towards facilitating healthcare service delivery in the area.
Umar Muda Lawal who was represented by his Director, Research and Planning, Alh. Suleiman Usman Sarkin Malaman Toro, said that the materials include 90 different hospitals equipment such as hospital Beds, mattresses, Atrifusil, Ventilated fan, graduation medicine cup, motorcycle and generators among others.
He urged the local government to ensure judicious distribution of the equipment to the health facilities across the local government for effective health care service delivery.
The Federal lawmaker also warned health workers in the area against diverting the equipment for their personal use as his office has set up different committees to monitor the utilization of the equipment at the grass root.
Other items distributed included 400 Water pumping machines; 400. 20 Sewing machines; 20 Grinding machines; 30 Keke NAPEP 20 and 40 motorcycles.
Speaking while receiving the equipment, the Executive Chairman of Toro Local Government, Alh. Adamu Umar (Dan Yaro Geji) applauded the legislator for the effort towards enhancing health care service delivery at the grass root.
Adamu Umar while assuring of Judicious distribution of the equipment to all the PHCs called on all politicians in the area to put heads together irrespective of their political differences toward providing dividends of democracy to the people of the local government so that the history of the local government would remember them one day.
Also, In his short remarks on the distribution of the equipment, the Director, Primary Health Care Department, Toro Local Government, Alh. Suleiman Abdu Kirfi said that initially the equipment are meant for six health facilities but considering the number of facilities in the local government the equipment were distributed to 19 health facilities In the area.
According to him, the staff of the health facilities were directed to ensure that they protected the equipment against any vandalisation.
He urged Wards and Villages development committees to work round the clock toward ensuring proper utilization of the equipment provided at their respective areas.
Chairman of APC in Toro Local Government Area, Alh. Sha’aban Muh’d Rimi said that the gesture was a landmark achievement and clear indication of good leadership of the member Umar Muda Lawal and APC representation.
According to him, more programs are under way for the development of the area hence, for the General Public to accord more support to the legislator to help them succeed.
