Training, morale booster for troops, soldiers says GOC 3rd Division

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3rd Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander, Operation Safe Heaven, Jos Plateau State, Major-General Ibrahim Ali, has described training as the morale booster for troops and soldiers.

Major General Ali made this known when he served as the special guest of honour at the opening ceremony of Corporal and below, competition 2022 held at Shadawanka Barracks Bauchi.

He emphasised that the essence of the competition is to prepare them battle ready to exhibit professionalism in the defence of Nigeria.

“The competition is aimed at improving the standard of battle readiness, physical fitness and developing professionalism among this cadre in the Nigerian Army”, he said.

He urged all participants to maximize the opportunity and participate keenly in the competition in order to be better equipped against further competition at National level.

Earlier in a welcome address, the chief host of the event and Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery Shadawanka Barracks, Brigadier General Joseph Adeyemo said participants are meant to achieve the spirit of sportsmanship at the end of the competition.

Brigadier General Adeyemo maintained that the event is in line of the vision of the Chief of Army Staff of producing professional Nigeria Army ready to accomplish assigned mission within a joint environment in defence of Nigeria.

He added that the competition is an annual event to improve the standard of Nigeria army in carrying out their responsibilities.

The competition that will end on Friday is also meant to improve the leadership qualities, organizational abilities and the level opf initiatives among the Corporal and below ranks.
