Training: NCC-DRC champions alternative dispute resolution for work place harmony

The Nigerian Chambers of Commerce Dispute Resolution Center (ACCI) has organized a training focused on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) strategies with the aim of promoting workplace harmony and business sustainability.

The training with the theme “Integrating Alternative Dispute Resolution in Managing Labour Disputes,” shed light on the crucial role of timely and effective dispute resolution using ADR in conflict management.

A former Minister of Labour and Chairman, NCC-DRC Governing Council, Prince Kayode Adetokunbo, SAN alongside the President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu SAN, took the lead during the workshop giving practical perspectives on the dynamics of Labour disputes and the importance of effective communication to avoid such disputes.

On his part, Prince Kayode Adetokunbo, stressed the inevitability of disputes in human interactions and the urgent need for proactive measures to address them. In agreement, Chief Obegolu, underscored the significance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms as the best measures to use, emphasizing their potential to foster a favorable environment for business expansion.

Other esteemed speakers such the ACCI General Counsel, Hajiya Hauwa Kaka Usman and Chisom Nwosu Esq discussed various topics related to the legal framework governing employee relations and the ADR techniques of choice in resolving labour disputes- mediation and negotiation.

Participants actively engaged in interactive discussions, recognizing the significance of equipping themselves with conflict resolution skills.

The workshop emphasized the importance of proactive dispute management in fostering sustainable economic development.
