Tsunami in Taraba as PDP, APC supporters defect to SDP

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, mass defection has hit the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba state.
Hundreds of PDP and APC members dumped the party for the opposition SDP and will be officially receive in a mega rally tagged “Taraba Political Tsunami”.
The leadership of the SDP in the state, assured the new members of justice, fairness, and equity.
The defection, according to the SDP leadership, took place at the SDP Secretariat in Jalingo, Taraba State Capital.
PDP and APC supporters raise alarm, fear over possibility of them losing the Governorship in 2023
2023: SDP leadership in the state makes promise to defectors when welcoming them, assured the new members of justice, fairness, and equity among members of the SDP.
They also called on others to join the opposition SDP, describing it as a winning party because it stands on powershift at all levels.
Their words: “We are very happy to have PDP and APC members in our midst and we believe that it will boost the moral of our great party, it is a welcome development.”
The Gubernatorial Candidate of the SDP in the state, Hon. Danladi Baido Tijos, also described the development as a dawn of a new era.
He said the mass defection to the SDP will shock Tarabans during the official kick up Campaign of the party in the state and was expected because Taraba State is no longer at ease under the PDP-led government.
“We can’t continue like this. The APC and PDP governments in the center and the state has failed woefully. When Rev Jolly Nyame was there as a Governor, we knew how the state was and we know how it is today.
