The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed delight on the conferment of prestigious traditional titles on three among the prominent personalities in Katsina by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.
Governor Radda, who attended the grand event, hailed the new title holders: State Deputy Governor Mallam Faruq Lawal Jobe, now the tenth Sarkin Fulanin Jobe; Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu, member representing Musawa-Matazu Federal Constituency, bestowed with the title of Dujiman Katsina; and Alhaji Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri, Chief of Staff to the Governor, who received the title of Lamidon Katsina.
In his congratulatory message, Governor Radda emphasized the significance of these appointments, saying, “These honors reflect not only the personal achievements of the recipients but also their unwavering commitment to the progress of Katsina State. The conferment of these titles by His Royal Highness is a testament to the rich cultural heritage we continue to preserve and celebrate.
“I am confident that in their new roles, they will contribute significantly to the peace, unity, and development of our dear state,” the Governor added.
Addressing the new title recipients after the turbaning ceremony, the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini expressed concern over the divisions among various Islamic sects, which he said have torn the Muslim community apart.
The Emir, however, identified backbiting and jealousy as factors contributing to societal division and called on Muslims to increase their support for the needy.
Speaking further, the Emir announced plans to form several committees, including those for Zakat Collection and Security, aimed at purifying society and averting calamities.
The event, held at the Emir’s palace attracted dignitaries from across the country, including former Katsina State Governor Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari; Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, and members from the Katsina State Assembly and National Assembly.
