The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, would prioritise security and power supply if he wins the coming election.
Hon. Tony Uche Ezekwelu, Volunteer Director, Ukachukwu Campaign Council, said in an interview in Onitsha, Anambra State after addressing the Diocese on the Niger Men’s Christian Fellowship (MCF), at the All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha during their annual convention.
He said Prince Ukachukwu, an accomplished businessman perfectly understands that for business to thrive, security of lives and property is critical.
“Every businessman prioritise security because if there is no security, customers will not come to buy.Every business man prioritise his customer as the boss because he knows that customer must be king for him to make profit” said Ezekwelu.
He assured that Prince Ukachukwu would ensure that there is conducive atmosphere for business activities to thrive in Anambra State because according to him, Dr. Ukachukwu: ” as a businessman understands the principles of business and profit making”.
Ezekwelu said: ” And for you to make profit, the environment must be conducive. Your workers must be in good condition. Your customers must be treated well. And everybody must be carefully guided ,so that ur customers will come and go , they ‘ll not be harassed by criminals. So because of that you prioritise security”.
The former member of Anambra State House of Assembly said the APC gubernatorial candidate as an industrialist also understands how companies operate.
Therefore, he said, Ukachukwu as a Governor must work to provide regular power supply, saying that in his estate in Abuja he generates power.
” So he has capacity and ability to generate power. He has built power plant that is operating 24 hours . Ukachukwu as a Governor will ensure partnership with competent and capable industrialists that will provide steady gas powered plants in Anambra State to provide 24-hour power supply to the whole of Anambra State” said Ezekwelu, who is also Convener, Anambra Equity Movement.
He continued: “And Anambra State has abundant gas in Nigeria. So, there is a cheap source of powering it. And the power will be owned by the people who buys coupons, who buy power and ressell. They make gains from providing power”.
Ezekwelu assured that Ukachukwu as Governor would not build Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s type of road which would collapse after few years.
“He will not do China roads, the type Soludo is doing. He will provide the type of roads Anambra people will be proud of. And while doing road, he will equally provide rail infrastructure” said Ezekwelu.
The director lamented that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has run Anambra State for more than 20 years, yet there is no public water anywhere in the State, promising that with Ukachukwu as Governor there would be water everywhere in Anambra State like the time of Chief Jim Nwobodo.
