Uke residents, indigenes rejoice as Ekwunife inspects Igwe Ileka Road construction project

The performing and people-oriented Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) on Wednesday, 6th January, 2021 paid a scheduled visit to the project site of Igwe Ileka Road Construction Project, Uke in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Ekwunife who was joined by members of her project monitoring committee was received at the project site by some stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the town as well as some community leaders.
The visit which was in line with Senator Ekwunife’s commitment to ensure that all projects she attracted to the Senatorial District receive adequate attention by the Contractors, afforded the Senator the opportunity to demand the project timeline and expected outcomes from the Project Contractor.
Speaking during the inspection visit, Ekwunife stated that the road which she first facilitated during her first stint in the Senate has been re-awarded because of its strategic importance to the people of the community and its neighbours. 
She reiterated her resolve to ensure that each community in the Senatorial District get projects focused at ameriorating the suffering of the masses. 
She further tasked the contractor to ensure that the drainage system of the newly awarded section of the road is completed before the end of February.
Some indigenes of the community who could not contain their joy over the commencement of work on the road, showered praises on Senator Ekwunife, with some of them describing her as Madam “Talk and Do” and Madam Project.
One of the indigenes, Mrs. Peace Nwankwo noted that residents had faced difficulty attending churches which were located along the road due to the very bad state of the road. 
She prayed God to bless the Senator for coming to their rescue, and stated that upon completion, the project will eliminate the agony the road users face.
Recall that Senator Ekwunife has in the past few months facilitated construction of many roads in the Senatorial District, notable amongst which include, the widely celebrated Rehabilitation of Awka-Ekwulobia Road, Construction of Oguejiofor Road Adazi Nnukwu, Timber and Building Materials Market Road Umuokpu, Amikwo and Iyiagu Roads Awka.
Other projects are, Umuogbuefi Village Road Ebenebe, Umuorji Village Road Enugwu-Ukwu, Echezona Road Obosi, Akuchukwu Road Nkpor, Anagu Road Umuoji, Second Ikemba Road Ogidi, E. Onyeagba Road Enugwu-Ukwu, Ifezue Road Nri, Ojiako Ezenne Road Adazi-Nnukwu, Izuchukwu Obi Road Ifitedunu, Road Construction Project at Ichida, Tarzan Junction/Akuzo Road Nkpor, Anagu Road Umuoji, Man Dodge Avenue Umudioka, Igwe Nwokedi Road Achalla, Odumodu Road Amawbia and others.
These roads construction and many other laudable projects and programmes are testimonies of Senator Ekwunife’s passion and drive to entrench good governance in Anambra Central Senatorial District and beyond.
Notably present during the road inspection include, An Executive of Uke Town Union, Ubaka Onwuanibe, PG Emeritus of Uke, Hon Ikedi Obi, Local Government Coordinator of PDP Coalition, Dozie Uzodinma, Project Site Engr, John Ikwuani, Chief Chidozie Omeifeukwu (Ichie akachukwu Uke), Chief Nonso Egbosi (Udala na Adala Ora Uke) and others.
On the Senator’s entourage were members of the project monitoring committee, which include,Former Commissioner for Women Affairs Anambra State, Lady Henrietta Agbata, Former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs. Helen Nwaeri, Former Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr. Rose Nwankwo, Project Manager Anambra Central Liaison Office, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Chinwuko, CEO New Orleans Hotels, Chief (Mrs.) Ego Akabogu and others.
