UNICEF-China Africa $1m intervention project boosted health facilities in Gombe

Following the United Nations Children Education Fund (UNICEF) collaboration with China Africa intervention project where a $1millon was injected to addressed the menace of high rate maternal and new born child in Kwami local government area of Gombe state has taking new shape.According to report that indicated no fewer than 55,234 under five children and 13,809 pregnant women have benefitted the project last year between January to December 2020.The project has also improved integrated health care services in local government councils areas where health status of women and children was revitalized as well as the improvement of health facilities.It could be recalled that the collaboration between the UNICEF and Gombe state government has trained 38 health workers from different fields of work in order to strengthen the capacity of primary health care system in Local government areas.At least health influencers and promoters in 55 communities (CHIPS) agents were also trained in integrated community case management (CCMS).Speaking to Journalists concerning the health facilities intervention project yesterday in health facilities in Dukkul and Maleri communities a staff whose name was given as Mohammed Adamu appreciated the confidence in the health intervention project which he said the project have improved the health facilities in the area.He said in like before they were having limited patients but now the number of patients have improved.Musa who thank UNICEF-CHINA intervention project said it will go long way assisting the poor.
