UNIDO commends Cross River governor, Ayade for array of industries

The United Nations Development Organization (UNIDO) has commended Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State for establishing many industries across much of the 18 LGAs of the state.

UNIDO representative in Nigeria, Jean Bakole made the recommendation in Calabar when he paid a courtesy call on the governor in company of Dr Inyang Asibobg, the commissioner for ministry of International development cooperation.

Bakole said the array of industries will provide employment for youths and reduce poverty in the state, which reason UNIDO will collaborate and support the State Government policies on Economic and Industrial development.

Earlier in his remarks,the UNIDO Representative, Dr Reuben Bamidele said that the UN Agency is fully committed to deliver on its mandate to support member states in which Cross River stands tall based on developed policy in achieving inclusive and sustainable industrial development.

During the policy validation workshop, Asibong explained, that the Cross River State /UNIDO collaboration will help develop a comprehensive document with global strategic actions and activities aimed at bringing structural and industrial transformation the state.

Commissioner for Industries, Peter Egba said the State is driving an inclusive and sustainable industrial hub, through a policy framework that will outlive the regime.
