Vehicle inspection office prosecutes driver’s license racketeers in Kwara
By Emmanuel Kehinde, Ilorin
The Chief Inspection Officer (VIO) in Ilorin, Engineer Michael Bamidele, has spread its intelligence units to hunt, arrest and prosecute driver’s licence racketeers in Kwara State.
Mr Bamidele, who made the remarks in Ilorin on Friday, said Nigerians wishing to obtain the driver’s licence should go directly to the VIO website to get enlightened and fill the licence forms.
He said that they can also go to designated VIO licensing offices and other formations to make adequate inquiries on how to obtain genuine driver’s licence from the right source.
The chief inspection Officer said that the licence was still affordable, adding that licence for three-year duration costs N6, 500 and that of five-year duration costs N10, 500.
“Obtaining the licence is further made easy by the Federal Road Safety Commission, Vehicle Inspection Office and state board of internal revenue having a one-stop shop,” he said.
