Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru, has lauded the contributions of the 17 Brigade Nigerian Army in maintaining peace and security across Katsina State.
The Governor’s remarks were delivered by Hon. Nasir Mu’azu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, during the 2024 West African Social Activities (WASA) celebration at Natsinta Baracks, Katsina.
This was contained in a statement Wednesday by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina State.
The Governor emphasized the Brigade’s professional excellence in fostering regional stability.
“The relative peaceful atmosphere being experienced in the State could be largely attributed to the professional competence and discipline of the officers, soldiers of 17 Brigade and other sister security agencies. Your effort is highly commendable and I urge you to maintain this laudable standard,” the Governor stated through his representative.
The Governor cited the historical significance of WASA as a vital platform for strengthening military-civilian relations. “The WASA serves as an avenue for fostering good relationships between the Nigerian Army personnel and host communities.
“It is my prayer that the good spirit of brotherliness between the people and government of Katsina State with the personnel of the Nigerian Army will not only be maintained but continue to grow in the state,” he noted.
Governor Radda further pledged continued partnership with security agencies. “It is my resolve to continue to partner with the security agencies at ensuring peace and security in all parts of Katsina State,” he declared, while expressing appreciation for the Brigade’s untiring efforts towards ensuring security of lives and properties in the state.
