The President of Karate Federation of Nigeria, (KFN ), Silas Ali Agara, has disclosed that he would not relent in developing sports, especially Karate, within Nigeria and beyond.
He made the statement at at the closing ceremony of the 3rd edition of the national open karate championship held at the Magaji Dan Yamusa permanent NYSC Orientation Camp, Keffi in Nasarawa State.
Honourable Agara who is the immediate past deputy Governor of Nasarawa State said, “I am a sports personality and administrator, I would be proactive in assisting the younger generation to embrace sports from amateurs to professional.
“I am calling on the youth to play sports, abide by the rules to progress and make history.
“I am happy that the sports of Karate is growing within Nigeria and beyond.” He said.
A total of 250 participants across the country drawn from states and Clubs participated at the five-day championship from 1st to 5th August, 2023.
At the end of the event, Abuja, came first, Bayelsa State, second and Nasarawa State came third respectively.
