Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) has called for the dissolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party because they performed badly and poorly.

He said in Abuja that, “It took the special plans for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to have won.
“He has built a solid network of contacts and political bridges across the national divide which he used to close the gap, land mines laid and loopholes deliberately and intentional created by NEC in collusion which the cabal working for Atiku Abubakar.

“Therefore NEC cannot exonerate itself from the wages of sin tbat has swept away Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Omisore.
Already the Women wing of the Party is embroiled in a crisis of confidence,” he said.

According to him, the NEC under Senator Abdullahi Adamu has polarized the party. It will therefore amount to partial justice if the NEC should be spared the dose given to the two helmsmen that run the party as a two-man dictatorship and refused to help the party fight a most difficult election.

The former political aide said that the National Convention of the APC is the highest organ of the party.
By the Constitution of the APC has the power to elect or remove National Officers of the party.

He stressed that, “I therefore suggest that the National Convention of the APC should immediately be convened to determine whether or not it is appropriate to keep in office a NEC that has demonstrated such despicable and mind-boggling waywardness and ineptitude. Who has the power to convene National Convention?

“Undoubtedly only NEC has the power to summon or convene the National Convention and prepare it agenda. The NEC should be compel to immediately convene the National Convention and the agenda to be tabled before the National Convention is: Whether the present NEC should be removed; Whether new National officers should be elected.
Undoubtedly the present NEC has lost the confidence of members of the party,” he said.

Chief Obono-Obla said that the National Convention should proceed and remove the present National officers and elect a new set of dedicated and committed leaders that have the interest of the party and country at heart.
