Management of Bauchi State owned Wikki Tourists FC has appealed to the League Management Company, (LMC) for clemency over the penalty imposed on it.
The Club wants the LMC to soften the sanctions it placed on the Club in the aftermath of match day 19 of the 21/22 #npfl game against Enyimba International fc played on the 20/3/22 in Bauchi where some irate fans caused chaos.
The appeal was made by the Secretary of the Club, Abdullahi Ibrahim in a chat with the Club Media saying that the Club felt guilty of what happened on that faithful day.
He said that the act was committed by some misguided miscreants, not true supporters of the club who do not wish the Club well, adding that it was a regrettable incidence.
He also said that Wikki Tourists FC is a state owned team solely sponsored by Bauchi State Government adding that such stiffer measures can discourage the government who also have other areas with competing financial demands.
He therefore passionately appealed to the LMC to review the sanctions in the interest of the game.
According to him, “The sanction is severe on us and we appeal to the LMC to temper justice with mercy” .
The Sanctions placed on the Club by the LMC include: Banishing Wikki Tourists to Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna; To pay N4m fine.
The LMC also placed Suspended 3 points deduction to last till end of the season, placing a burden of good conduct on the Club failing which the points deduction will be activated.
