World Civil Defence Day: Lecture, sensitization as Civil Defence in Delta commits to zero tolerance to criminality

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Delta State Command joins the rest of the world to celebrate this year’s World Civil Defence Day every March 1.
The annual event is mapped out by the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) and this year’s commemoration has the theme “Strong civil protection to preserve national economy.”
The state Commandant, Dr. Chike Ikpeamonwu, urges all Delta people and Nigerians in general to use this year’s Civil Defence Day to have a rethink more especially at this trying times of the nation’s insecurity.
This was contained in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps, Eke L. Onyekachi to Apex News Exclusive.
According to him, with this year’s theme Nigeria’s economy can only be preserved and sustained through the protection of lives and property of the citizens.
He, therefore, enjoined everyone to play their part in ensuring the security of civil populace and critical national assets and infrastructure stressing that security is everybody’s business.
Commandant Chike also maintained that there will be a rally and mini Show of Force, sensitization, lecture, workshop and the Commandant’s address to mark the event at the State Command Headquarters, Asaba.
He also noted that the Command is committed to zero tolerance to crimes and criminality in line with its mandate.
