World Teachers Day: motivate teachers, get result of international standard – Proprietress

Federal and State Governments have been called upon to consider teachers across all levels for optimal teachings that can produce results that would match international standard.

The call was made by the Proprietress Fortress International Academy Uke in Karshi Development Area , Karu LGA , Nasarawa State, Mrs Beatrice Silas on Thursday to mark the World Teachers Day.

Mrs Beatrice Silas while making the called said teachers great trainers who should be celebrated and motivated at all times for their sacrifices.

“On a day like this, we need to remember our teachers, because teachers are people that have impact our children. Teachers are people that ought to be celebrated as they are the ones behind the successes recorded in our national lives . Teachers are people that shaped our youths on how best to live in the society.

“I am therefore calling on both the federal and state governments to motivate teachers, celebrate teachers and create a better life for teachers so that they can in turn show more commitments in teaching for our students to acquire knowledge and results that will match international standards.” She said.

The proprietress, also used the opportunity to celebrate the Third Year of Fortress International Academy from establishment, said the school has facilities of learning that meets global trend of education.

“I thank God that for three years from our establishing this school , we have over 700 students and with no account of death recorded.” She added.

Also, the principal Government Day Secondary School Uke , Suleiman Yahaya expressed satisfaction in the policy of the Nasarawa State Government in the education sector which has brought about teaching, learning and infrastructure development across the state.

Suleiman posited that the World Teachers Day is a remarkable day in the life of any professional teacher.

According to him, a teacher must have it at the background of his mind that his job is not a money making venture but a profession that is created to educate someone to becoming a useful person in the society.

“My appeal to all teachers not only those in Nasarawa State but in the country at large is that they should discharge their duty without necessarily considering to be rich or as wealthy, but devote their energy time and passion for the job.

“I must say that in Nasarawa State, public teachers have enjoyed certain benefits which have enhanced teaching in various public schools today that private schools can not dire to reach our standard today.” Suleiman pointed.
