The Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Rev. Pastor Olanipekun Olukoyede has called on Resurrection Praying Mothers of Nation Association, (Praying Mothers) to deploy spiritual energy together with motherhood instinct to help combat moral decadence among youths in the country.

Praying Mothers, represented by their leaders

EFCC Chairman made this call when Praying Mother paid him courtesy visit in his office at the commission’s headquarters, recently. The Chairman noted that the increasing menace festering financial crimes like internet frauds, (yahoo) and the ritual element called yahoo+ is as a result of moral sterility beginning at the family unit.

Pastor Olukoyede who was represented by Chief of Staff, Pastor Mike Nzekwe urged the group to continue to pray fervently so that the fight against corruption will be won. He added that, mothers are bedrock of socialization process which helps in child’s upbringing. He opined, if morals are inculcated to children in their early lives, the tendency to indulge in vices like yahoo and yahoo plus will be reduced to the barest minimum.

He said EFCC will partner with the Praying Mothers to domesticate the message down to the grassroots across Nigeria through advocacy, training programs, crusades and seminars.

Earlier in her address, the National President of the group, Rev. Dr. Lois Angula said Praying Mothers believe that one way by which fight against corruption can be won in Nigeria is through bahaviour change. She emphasized that mothers play key roles in family towards ensuring that decent values against all forms of corruption are enshrined.

“By this, we would be raising a community of believers and not Yahoo+ or criminals. This is why we are here to collaborate with the EFCC, especially now that one of us in the Lord’s vineyard has been called upon to lead the country’s fight against corruption. As praying mothers, we are also here to pray for him, and give him our blessings”, she said.

Explaining further what the organization stands for, Rev. Angula said; “Praying Mothers is as an intercessory Faith-Based Organization (FBO). We are non-denominational or trans-denominational organization. It is a platform for all mothers who want to be effective and fulfill their prayer devotion at the family units, for Nigeria and the world at large.

“Our major aim is to raise a generation of willing souls among women in Nigeria who submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ through the leading of the Holy Spirit, with burning desire for the gift of intercession, at the same time yielding their lives to God’s agenda of kingdom desire.

“We do not only pray, we also take the action by organizing summits, seminars, workshops and crusades for our members and observe a National Prayer Day for Nigeria.

“We also reach out to prostitutes, destitute, vulnerable and drug addicts to preach Christ to them and empower them. We identify and bring out their God given talents. We have done this in Adamawa State and other few states in Nigeria”.
