Yobe recruits 948 new primary school teachers to boost education

Yobe State Government has recruited 948 new primary school teachers to boost primary education in the state.

The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alh. Umaru Hassan Babayo, confirmed the recruitement after meeting with the Executive Governor of the State, Dr. Mai Mala Buni in Damaturu.

The Executive Chairman diclosed that the recruitment is to fill existing gaps of the required primary School Teachers in the State

He said majority of the recruits were volunteer teachers who have been teaching in primary schools voluntarily.

Babayo said SUBEB is organizing workshops for the recruits to aquint them with additional skills on teaching for effective and efficient dissemination of knowledge to the pupils.

The chairman charged the new teachers to justify the confidence the Government reposed on them, assuring that
the Board would intensify inspection to ensure productivity to enable the Government have value for its expenditure.

In his remarks, Governor Buni urged the Board to ensure that only those qualified for the job were given the opportunity and
ensure the training of the new teachers to have the best out of them.

“Government would continue to support the Board to promote efficiency and productivity for the State to achieve its set goals of taking education to greater heights,” Gov. Buni promised.
