Yobe Senator, APC leader congratulate Governor Buni on appointment as Chairman, Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum

The Senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District, Hon Musa Mustapha, has congratulated Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni on his endorsement as new Chairman of the Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum.

The Senator congratulated the Governor shortly after the end of its three-day meeting held in Maiduguri between 29th to 31st.

According to him, “I offer my warm congratulations to His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, Executive Governor of Yobe State on his unanimous endorsement as brand new Chairman of the Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum and also, for historically hosting one of the most successful meetings of the forum since its creation”.

He started that Governor Buni has earned the confidence and trust of the Member States of the Forum which led to his selection as the Chairman of the regional

He added that, “As first Yobe State Governor to hold this position, I am absolutely confident that he is equal to the task knowing his capacity and deep knowledge of handling complex challenges.

“We are all too aware that despite unprecedented progress in the fight against insurgency in our States, there are still many threats to regional stability and therefore, Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum plays a key role in facilitating peace and development to all Member States.

Similarly, the Yobe South Zonal women leader, Fatima Umar Mairiga, congratulated Buni on his endorsement as Chairman of the Lake Chad Basin Governors Forum for the period of two years.

She described the election of Governor Buni as a significant achievement for the state and its people and a source of pride and a blessing for Yobe State.

She said under his leadership, Yobe State has made significant strides in various sectors, including healthcare, road construction, education, skill, empowerment.
